Jan. 20
Fire Department was dispatched to the 1800 Block of Hwy 114 regarding a structure fire. Upon arrival, fire crews conducted a complete investigation of the struct and found no smoke or hazardous conditions. Alarm was determined to be unintentional, and responsible party was advised and educated on alarm system operation. Units cleared the scene and returned to station.
Jan. 21
Fire Department was dispatched to the 2000 block of Mustang Dr. regarding the smell of gas outside the home. Fire department arrived on scene and investigated for any gas leak/ gas odor and after finding none, informed homeowner of no traces of gas. Units cleared the scene and returned to station.
Jan. 22
Fire Department B-12 was dispatched to the 6100 block of FM 597 in Anton regarding a report of heavy black smoke. Upon arrival fire crew observed a small fire involving cotton material. Crews extinguished the fire and the scene was checked for hotspots and no further hazards found. Crew cleared the scene and returned to station.
Fire Department B-14 responded to the 100 block of Flint to assist EMS with gaining access to a patient. Crew forced entry through door to allow EMS to reach patient. EMS assumed patient care and units returned to station.
Fire Department E-8 was dispatched to the 400 block of Ave J regarding a carbon monoxide alarm activation. Upon arrival, crew made contact with the occupant and conducted a thorough investigation of the residence and found no hazardous but did find the detectors were expired. Occupants were advised and informed on maintaining upto- date and properly functioning carbon monoxide detectors. Units cleared the scene and returned to station.
Fire Department E-8 was dispatched to the 300 block of Ave X regarding a gas odor. Crew did not detect any hazardous readings. Scene was cleared and unit returned to station.
Fire Department E-8 was dispatched to the 100 block of Badger regarding a gas odor. Upon arrival, crew made contact with resident who stated they thought they heard gas leaking from a meter. Crew was unable to find a gas leak and scene was cleared and unit returned to station.
Jan. 23
Fire Department R-4 and B-14 were dispatched to the 200 Block of Evening Tower Road regarding a singlevehicle motor accident. Units arrived on scene to find vehicle damaged and in roadway, and established scene safety and assisted with traffic control. EMS was on scene and began patient assessment. Units remained until Hockley County Sheriff ’s Office arrived and assumed traffic control responsibilities. Units returned to station after being released.
Fire Department was dispatched to the 200 Block of W. Jackson regarding a leaking gas meter. Upon arrival, crew found a small amount of gas leaking a fitting. Atmos was notified and with no hazardous observed, advised homeowner. Units returned to station.
Fire Department R-4 was dispatched to the 100 block of Arnett in Ropesville a motor vehicle wreck. EMS advised fire they could cancel and return to station.
Fire Department was dispatched to the 2000 block of Yale regarding a smoke alarm with no contact from homeowner. Police department advised the alarm company called back and canceled the call.
Fire Department dispatched to the 900 block of Robin Road regarding carbon monoxide detector in a residence. Upon arrival, gas was detectible and crew ran the tri-gas monitor and were unable to find anything. Scene was cleared and units returned to station.
Jan. 24
Fire Department B-12 was dispatched to the 100 block of Darrell regarding a downed power line, arcing with flames on the ground. Crew arrived to find the downed pole with no arcing. Xcel Energy was contacted and crew remained on scene until their arrival, at which time crew was released and returned to station.
Fire Department was dispatched to the100 block of Crestview regarding a shed fire. Owner was moving debris with a skidsteer when crew arrived and crew began extinguishing all visible flames and cool down fence. Shed contents were lost. Scene was cleared and unit returned to station.
Jan. 25
Fire Department B-12 was dispatched to the 1800 Block of 8th Street regarding the odor of propane inside a vehicle. Squad 11 was nearby and responded in place of B12 and upon arrival made contact with resident who stated he had transported a large propane tank from a retail store and during transport smell the odor of propane inside his vehicle and stated he was experiencing neck pain during transport. Crew advised dispatch of request for EMS and found no hazardous reading. Scene was cleared and unit returned to station.
Fire Department B-14 was dispatched to the 400 block of S. College regarding the smell of gas. Crew confirmed a gas odor and requested a different monitor be brought to location. Squad 11 responded with different monitor and activation of alarm was almost immediate and location evacuated and secured. Fire crew remained until Atmos personnel arrived and were released from scene. Units returned to station.
Fire Department B-14 was dispatched to the 1800 block of Ave I regarding a sparking power line. Dispatch also contacted Xcel. Upon arrival, crew found no sparking power lines or power lines down on the ground but found multiple homes with no electricity. Xcel personnel arrived on scene and crew was released from scene to return to station.
Fire Department B-14 was dispatched to the 3600 block of Hwy 114 regarding two possible electrical . Crew was notified en route that Oxy personnel were working on a power line and advised fire could cancel response. Units returned to station.
Jan. 26
Fire Department was dispatched to the 700 block of MLK regarding a water suppression issue. Crew made contact with management and conducted an investigation and found the system had ruptured due to cold temperatures. Crew restored municipal water system and ensured suppression system was shut down for repair. Unites cleared scene and returned to station.
Fire Department was dispatched to the 800 block of 8th Street regarding the smell of gas. Crew searched area and found no gas smell or leak.
Fire Department was dispatched to the 700 block of MLK regarding municipal fire alarm. Property manager canceled the call while crew was enroute. Unit returned to station.
Fire Department was dispatched to the 100 block of County Road regarding a water flow alarm. Police department advised alarm company canceled call.
Fire Department dispatched to Houston St. and Ave T regarding a pump jack leak. Crew found some oil outside fence and on well head, no signs of an active leak. Oxy was advised and units cleared scene to return to station.
Jan. 27
Fire Department dispatched to the 100 block of Capital to assist EMS and Police Department gaining entrance to residence. Call was cancelled in enroute and unit returned to station.
Fire Department dispatched to Ellis and Badger regarding a fas leak. Upon arrival, crew found no gas leak or gases in air. After investigating the area, unit cleared scene and returned to station.
Fire Department dispatched to the 400 block of E Hwy 114 regarding a fire alarm. Unit was canceled enroute and advised there was a broken pipe.
Fire Department dispatched to the 2100 block of Progressive Place regarding water flow activation. Keyholder advised it was a false alarm and unit cleared scene and returned to station.
Fire Department was dispatched to the 2000 block of S. College Ave. regarding a gas odor. Crew ran the trigas monitor which indicated elevated LEL leves. Atmos was contact and after scene was mitigated, units returned to station.
Jan. 28
Fire Department was dispatched to the 200 block of Pecan regarding possible structure fire. Upon arrival, crew found heavy and fire and additional resources were requested. Units began initial knockdown and requested mutual aid and the power company to cut all energy. Units remained on scene until all fire and smoke were cleared and requested a fire investigator. Units cleared scene and returned to station. Fire Department E-6 dispatched to the 300 block of E Hwy 114 regarding a semi-truck sliding off highway and blocking traffic. Dispatch advised no hazmat and needing traffic control assistance. Police Department diverted traffic from area and released fire department. Units returned to station.
Jan. 30
Fire Department dispatched to the 200 block of Brentwood regarding elderly woman experiencing breathing issues and no access to residence. Upon arriving, the door was answered and discovered to be a false alarm. Unit returned to station.
Jan. 31
Fire Department dispatched to the 100 block of Gary regarding a carbon monoxide detector. Crew found traces of carbon monoxide and requested Atmos representative who did a pressure test. Crew was released from scene and returned to station.
Fire Department E=dispatched to the 1800 block of Hwy 385 regarding possible structure fire. Crew arrived to find sheriff deputies on scene and advised of controlled burn and made contact with owner who states the controlled burn was not called in. Owner was advised of proper procedures and unit cleared scene and returned to station.
Feb. 2
Fire Department dispatched to the100 block of Detroit regarding a fire alarm. Resident advised the alarm did not go off audibly. Units cleared scene and returned to station.
Fire Department dispatched to the 1100 Block of Norway Rd, in Whitharral regarding vehicle fire. Upon arrival, crew found heavy smoke and flames coming from the cab of the truck and began suppression efforts. Once flames subsided and crews checked for extra fire and scene was cleared and units returned to station.
