Mar. 2
10:26 a.m. - Fire Department B-14 and T-9 dispatched to the 100 block of Quail Road for possible grass fire. Upon arrival, crew noticed burned grass on north side of highway with no flames. B014 put water on burned grass. Bystander told T-9 crew there was a possible fire to eat. Upon investigation, no fire was found and scene was cleared. Units returned to station.
5:41 p.m. - Fire Department dispatched to the 100 block of FM1585 regarding a wreck with one trapped victim. Mutual aid was initiated to assist Wolfforth Fire Department in lifting patient to stretcher and into EMS vehicle. LFD was cleared from scene and returned to station.
Mar. 3
8:11 a.m. - Fire Department E-8 and B-14 dispatched to the 1700 block of Wilson regarding smoke in the area near 1711 Wilson and city park area. Upon arrival a heavy layer of fog was observed lifting from park area and no flames were observed. Units returned to station.
10:14 a.m. - Fire Department B-14 and T-9 dispatched to 6200 E Hwy 114 regarding a grass fire in the bar ditch near Spade Ranch. Upon arrival fire was located and quickly contained. Units wetted hot spots and cleared the scene and returned to station.
Mar. 4
1:11 p.m. - Fire Department E-8 dispatched to 702 Cherry Levelland regarding a fire alarm fire department. Upon arrival, no smoke or fire was observed. Contact was made with occupant of residence who stated he had removed the detector from and accidentally hit the activation button and verified there was no fire. Unit returned to station.
Mar. 5
10:02 a.m. Fire Department dispatched to the1400 block of Ellis to witness a fire drill at the school.
3:48 p.m. - Fire Department dispatched to the 100 block of Arnett in Ropesville regarding a tractor trailer (paper shredder truck) fire. Upon arrival , crew assisted with providing water for Ropesville VFD until fire was extinguished. Scene was cleared and units returned to station.
Mar. 6
12:52 p.m. - Fire Department dispatched to the 1800 block of Maize Rd. regarding a possible gas leak with liquid venting out of pipe. Upon arrival, fire personnel spoke with a bystander we reported it was a water leak. Upon investigation, water leak was located and the water well shut off, and the pipe tagged. Scene was cleared and units returned to station.
2:56 p.m. - Fire Department dispatched to the1000 Block of Ave H regarding a fire started by a welder. Upon arrival, crew found fire extinguished and personnel remained on scene to make sure there was no extension of fire and soaked area down with water. Scene was cleared and units returned to station.
Mar. 7
7:46 a.m. – Fire Department B-14 and T-9 dispatched to Hard Hat Rd and Equalizer regarding a pile of spools on fire. Upon arrival, crew observed some flames showing from the small pile of spools. Fire personnel extinguished the flames and soaked the spools with water. The scene was clear and units returned to station.
8:33 p.m. - Fire Department dispatched to the 1800 block of Ave H regarding the smell of smoke. smell of smoke in a house. Upon arrival, crew investigated with a thermal imaging camera and found no signs of smoke or fire. Scene was cleared and unites returned to station.
Mar. 8
7:35 p.m. – Fire Department E-8, T-3 and Squad 11 dispatched to the 800 block of Lovebird in Smyer regarding a structure fire. Levelland EMS, Smyer VFD, Hockley County Sheriff ’s Office and Ropesville VFD were also dispatched. While enroute, crews were advised that fire and smoke was observed and the occupant was trying to get pets out. Smyer VFD was first on scene and LFD assisted with defensive attack on double-wide mobile home that fully involved in fire. As more crews from Smyer VFD and Ropesville VFD arrived, crews assisted with knocking down a grass fire extension from the structure. LF remained on scene to assist with overhaul. Smyer VFD release LFD and units cleared the scene and returned to station.
