Hancock distributes $1.5B in sales tax revenue

Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock announced today he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.5 billion in local sales tax allocations for February, 2.5 percent more than in February 2025.

These allocations are based on sales made in December by businesses that report tax monthly; October, November and December sales by quarterly filers; and 2025 sales by businesses that report tax annually.

Sales tax allocation comparison summary reports present data on monthly local sales and use tax payments to local jurisdictions.

These payments represent funds identified for local jurisdictions since the previous month’s distribution.

When used with other local indicators, these reports may help indicate present and future economic trends.

Anton saw a 26.45% increase, receiving $13,601; Sundown rose by 6.87%, receiving $40,179 for the current period.
