Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock announced last week he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.3 billion in local sales tax allocations for November, 6.4% more than in November 2024.
These allocations are based on sales made in September by businesses that report tax m o n t h l y and on sales made in July, August and September by quarterly filers.
Locally, Levelland received $504,529, up by 19.71% over last year in the same period.
Ropesville was up 1.51% receiving$13,443; and Smyer also gained 8.45%, receiving $6,937.
Sundown received $35,854, dropping by 39.70% from the same period last year; Anton received $9,826, down -4.07%; and Opdyke West, $431, down -41.89%. In Cochran County, Morton gained a big 42.10%, receiving $18,992; and Whiteface was up 5.38%, receiving $3,042.
Statewide, cities received $796.6 million in allocations, up by 5.7% from last year; counties received $76.3 million, up by 6.4%; transit systems, $259.3 million, up 6.7%; and special purpose districts, $128.5 million, up 4.8%.
Total net payments this period were $796,641,593 million, a positive 5.66% change from last year.
