The Hockley County Commissioners’ Court will be holding a regular meeting Monday, August 12, beginning at 9 a.m. in the Commissioners’ Courtroom.
Agenda items set for the meeting include: Read for approval the minutes for the regular meeting held on August 5; Read for approval all monthly bills and claims submitted to the Court dated through August 12; Hear update from Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office; Consider and take necessary action concerning the insurance claim on the maintenance shop; Consider and take necessary action to approve the Continuation Certificate of Norman Moore, Chief Juvenile Probation Officer, Hockley County Juvenile Probation; the Official Bond and Oath of Melissa Lynn Land Hodge, Deputy Tax Collector, Hockey County Tax Assessor; and the Continuation Certificate of Larry Cardona, Reserve Deputy, Hockley County Sheriff’s Office; Discussion and potential action to approve a resubmitted Tax Deed for Lot Nine (9), in Block Sixty-one (61), to the Original Town of Levelland, Hockley County, Texas (R10222), to be purchased by Guy Ross Tippy for the amount of $800.00; Consider and take necessary action to approve a Corrected Tax Deed correcting the legal description in a Tax Deed recorded at Document #202200002573, Official Public Records, Hockley County; Consider and take necessary action to approve the trade in of a 2020 John Deere 770G (1DW770GXHKF702638) and the purchase of a 2025 John Deere 770G Motor Grader through the Buy Board to be delivered by December 31, 2024 and for use in Precinct Three;
Consider and take necessary action to approve the trade in of a 2020 John Deere 770G (1DW770GXVLF703141) and the purchase of a 2025 John Deere 770G Motor Grader through the Buy Board to be delivered by January 1, 2025 and for use in Precinct Three; Consider and take necessary action to approve the trade in of a 2019 Caterpillar (AA) 140M3 (0N9D01378) and the purchase of a 2024 150 Caterpillar 150 Motor Grader through the Buy Board to be delivered within 30 days and for use in Precinct One; Consider and take necessary action concerning the application submitted by the First Methodist Church requesting permission to use the courthouse lawn on August 16, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m.; Consider and take necessary action to award the bid for a 2024 or newer model pickup for use by Juvenile Probation.
