Josh Randol, Arizona born, Southeast Missouri raised, and Texan by the grace God, has announced his candidacy for the Levelland City Council, District D position.
After relocating to Cross Plains, Tx., in 2016, The Randols moved to Levelland when he was accepted into Texas Tech’s Rawls College of Business back in early 2021. At about the same time, his wife, Gina, accepted a position at Levelland Middle School, now teaching 5th grade Science. Together for 23 years, Josh and Gina have four sons; 22, 18, 10, and nine-years-old. Eli Randol, 18-years-old, is an active senior athlete at LHS. Their younger children attend school locally, as well.
Randol teaches his children to be involved if they want to see change, to think outside the box, and to advocate for themselves and those around them. He feels that by taking steps to become more active in the decision making process of our city, they will see that actions speak louder than words.
The reason for choosing Levelland was the ease of feeling at home in this great community. At the time of their move, Josh operated a business, RandCo Builders, and believed this was a place he and his family would thrive.
“I see such a potential for growth as I drive down the main streets and love that Levelland is on an upward trajectory”, says Randol, who is an entrepreneur at heart.
Together, the Randols operate a small business, Twisted Sugar. Community members might have seen them around the square. Currently, Randol works at LMS as a 5th Grade ELAR teacher.
Since moving to Levelland, Randol and his family have been on purpose about becoming someone the community would be glad to say is from Levelland. With 10 years of experience being a pastor and wanting to be part of the community in positive ways, Randol and his family regularly invite community members and students to their home to hold Bible study.
He is the current/outgoing Levelland Athletic Booster Club President, serves as treasurer of the Capitol Parent Club, holds a seat on the Little League Baseball committee, and attends LISD School Board Meetings regularly. Randol believes in everything Levelland. He envisions a city that accommodates all ages and generations.
Randol wants to focus on what keeps young couples in the city. Splash pads, appealing rental options, a walk around your block free from stray animals, and he wants to make sure the right questions are being asked before making hard decisions for Levelland.
Randol will be on the ballot for the May 3, 2025 general election. Early voting will run from April 22-29. Early voting will be held at the Hockley County Elections Office, located at 911 Austin St.
