Lawrence Family Limousin honored with award

For 30 years, Lawrence Family Limousin in Anton has grown to become one of the most recognizable names in the in the Limousin breed. They were recently honored with the inaugural Legacy Award at the 2026 Limousin Legacy Sale in Denver, Colorado.

Like many successful seedstock producers, Lawrence Family Limousin is firmly rooted in the commercial cattle industry. Bruce and Paula Lawrence began their Limousin journey in 1988 when they purchased a Limousin heifer calf for their son Paul. The heifer was purchased using scramble certificates Paul earned at two Texas major stock shows.

Through their children’s involvement showing Limousin heifers, the couple developed a deep appreciation not only for the breed but also for the Limousin community, and when they began diversifying in 1993, Limousin seedstock became the cornerstone of that growth.

Bruce has been a dedicated leader within the industry for decades. He served two years as president of the Texas Limousin Association and multiple years on its board. Nationally, he served multiple terms on the NALF board of directors, including two years as president.

The family’s involvement also extends to their daughter, Amber, who served two terms on the Texas Junior Limousin Association (TJLA) board of directors, including one year as president, and two terms on the NALJA board of directors, culminating in her role as president. Their grandson, Tucker, has extended the legacy built through his active involvement in the breed from a young age. Their son, LeRoy, has also demonstrated strong leadership, serving two terms on the TJLA board of directors, including one year as president.

The Lawrence family has established a multi-generational tradition of service, leadership, and excellence within the Limousin breed. Today, Lawrence Family Limousin manages 300 head enrolled in the LIMS program. Their diversified operation also includes cotton, corn, wheat, native grass, and a successful custom baling business.
