6/15/25 – 11 A.M. – LEVELLAND
The LFD received an alarm call in the 600 block of Avenue H. Upon arrival and after investigation they found the alarm to be sounding and the lights going off. The LFD contacted the maintenance personnel and upon their arrival the alarm stated it was the smoke alarm in the elevator. The maintenance personnel called the alarm company and put the alarm into test mode until a repair could be done. The LFD cleared the scene and returned to the station.
6/14/25 – 9:30 P.M. – LEVELLAND
An LFD crew was dispatched to an alarm system activation in the 600 block of Avenue H. Upon arrival the alarm system was still activated but no smoke or fire showing. Fire department personnel cleared the building and checked the panel for activation source. After checking the source and clearing the panel the LFD cleared the scene and returned to the station.
6/13/25 – 11 P.M. – LEVELLAND
The LFD received a page from dispatch in regard to a downed tree on a power line in the 1900 block of Avenue H. LFD units responded from another call and upon arrival units located the tree and no power lines were on the ground. Units stood by until the power company arrived, and the LFD units cleared the scene.
6/13/25 – 10 P.M. – HOCKLEY COUNTY
The LFD received a report of a grass fire in the 3200 block of FM 1585. LFD units responded to assist Sundown FD. All units cleared without further incident.
6/13/25 – 9 P.M. – HOCKLEY COUNTY
The LFD received a report of a sparking transformer in the 2300 block of Sunrise Lane. LFD units responded to the location and requested Lamb County Electric to respond as well. Fire personnel located blown fuses on the power pole and a downed service line. Dispatch advised Lamb County Electric of the situation.
6/13/25 – 7 P.M. – LEVELLAND
The LFD received a report of a down power line in the 1300 block of 5th Street. LFD units responded to the location and requested the power company’s assistance. Upon arrival there were no power lines down but advised Xcel to check the area.
6/13/25 – 2 P.M. – LEVELLAND
The LFD responded to the 500 block of Avenue H where a small smoldering box in a dumpster was located. The LFD extinguished the fire and all units were cleared.
6/10/25 – 2 P.M. – LEVELLAND
The LFD received a report of a gas leak in the 200 block of Peach. The gas meter was located and determined it had been struck by a vehicle. Atmos was requested and while fire personnel turned off the meter and stopped the leak.
6/9/25 – 7:30 A.M. – HOCKLEY COUNTY
The LFD was dispatched to the 3100 block of Alamo Road in regard to a motor vehicle collision. Responding units worked with Levelland EMS to extricate the driver and loaded the patient into the ambulance for treatment. Units remained on scene until the highway patrol arrived.
6/8/25 – 10 P.M. – LEVELLAND
The LFD was dispatched to the 400 block of Rayburn in regards to arcing power lines in the backyard of a residence. Upon arrival units attempted to locate but were unable to locate the source.
6/6/25 – 11 A.M. – LEVELLAND The LFD responded to the 300 block of Dogwood after a report from a residential caregiver who stated they observed sparks coming from the oven. The responding crew located and turned off the electrical breaker to the oven. The scene was deemed safe and the LFD returned to the station.
6/5/25 – 8:30 P.M. – LEVELLAND
The LFD were dispatched to a downed power line around the 1500 block of 8th Street. Units responded and advised proper authority. All units cleared the scene and returned to the station.
6/5/25 – 8 P.M. – LEVELLAND
The LFD were dispatched to assist someone who was stranded in the storm around FM 303 and Ontario. Advised there was a tree blocking them. Fire personnel cut up the tree and helped clear the road and returned to the station.
6/5/25 – 7 P.M. – LEVELLAND
The LFD were dispatched to a semi that had rolled over near FM1294 and County Road. Crews worked to get the driver with EMS and evaluated. Units remained on scene to help with traffic control. The LFD cleared the scene and returned to the station.
6/5/25 – 4 P.M. – LEVELLAND
The LFD were dispatched to a fire in a barn around the 3100 block of FM 303. It was a control burn that the owner needed assistance extinguishing. The fire was contained and put out by fire personnel. Once the fire was out all personnel cleared the scene and returned to the station.
6/2/25 - LEVELLAND - 1 P.M.
Fire personnel were dispatched to the 2300 block of Highway 385 in regard to an active fire alarm. Upon arrival the report was deemed a false alarm. The area was checked before returning to the station.
6/1/25 - LEVELLAND - 2 P.M.
The LFD received a report of a fire in a backyard located in the 200 block of Walnut. While enroute, the report was elevated to a structure fire. The fire was deemed a family single-story residence with fire showing from the back of the residence and roof area. Fire personnel arrived on location and requested to make an entry attack through the south side of the residence. Additional personnel attacked the fire from the rear of the residence. An attack crew made entry through the front door, encountering heavy smoke and a small fire in the kitchen area near the attic. Xcel and Atmos utility companies were requested. The fire was controlled and positive-pressure ventilation was initiated with small flare-ups in the attic but was immediately controlled. Fire crews monitored the structure with thermal imaging cameras. No additional flare-ups were found. All equipment was accounted for and returned to the apparatus. Units returned to the station to complete service of units and equipment.
