7/24/25 - 12:30 P.M. - HOCKLEY COUNTY
LFD units were dispatched to FM 168 and FM 1515 after receiving a report from a construction crew that equipment had caught on fire. Once on scene, the crew had extinguished the fire. Fire personnel deemed the area safe and returned to the station.
7/24/25 - 3:41 A.M. - LEVELLAND
The LFD were dispatched to a residential fire alarm in the 2000 block of Rice. Fire personnel on scene could not locate any smoke or fire. LFD units made contact with the homeowner and were advised that the alarm was coming from a smoke detector. A thermal imaging camera was used to check the residence. The LFD gave the all clear and returned to the station.
7/21/25 - 4:30 P.M. - HOCKLEY COUNTY
The LFD were dispatched to the area of Justin Road and Grubstake Road to offer traffic control for a vehicle wreck that occurred. Units blocked traffic upon arrival to allow law enforcement and Levelland EMS to help patients involved with the collision.
7/21/25 - 11:30 A.M. - LAMB COUNTY
The LFD responded to a request for mutual aid from the Littlefield Fire Department for a wildland fire near FM 303 and CR 342. Upon arrival, crews observed active fire behavior such as heavy smoke, moderate wind conditions, which contributed to fire spread. In addition to Littlefield Fire Department units on scene, the Sudan Fire Department was also present and actively involved in suppression efforts. All departments coordinated to conduct a direct attack on the fire utilizing brush trucks. No injuries were reported, and no structures were threatened during the incident. Units remained on scene for mop-up and overhaul operations to ensure the fire was fully contained before clearing the scene.
7/20/25 - 9:30 P.M. - LEVELLAND
LFD assistance was requested by law enforcement for high visibility on a fatal wreck near the 2300 block of U.S. 385. While on scene, the responding units provided traffic control. Once the area was cleared all units were released and the roadway was reopened.
7/20/25 - 7 P.M. - LEVELLAND
Units were dispatched to a potential dryer fire in the 100 block of Aransas. While units were enroute, dispatch advised that the homeowner had extinguished the fire and did not need LFD assistance. All units cleared the scene and returned to the station.
7/19/25 - 11 A.M. - HOCKLEY COUNTY
The LFD were dispatched to a three vehicle collision near U.S. 385 and FM 1585. The responding units provided traffic control.
7/19/25 - 9:30 A.M - LEVELLAND
LFD untis were dispatched to the 1800 block of Boston for a suspected carbon monoxide release inside a home. LFD personnel made contact with the residents outside and were informed that the residents’ grandparents had been taken to the hospital for suspected carbon monoxide poisoning. Fire crews then made entry inside the home with gas detector devices. The home was searched for carbon monoxide and other harmful gases. Crews deemed the inside of the home was safe until they entered the main shop and garage area. The detectors picked up on natural gas leaking from a pipe. Fire crews alerted the family of their findings. The family informed the LFD that a plumbing crew was enroute to try to resolve the issue. Fire crew personnel told the family once the plumbing issue was resolved they could call them back out to check if any more gas was leaking. The fire crew also gave recommendations to the family not to let the grandparents back into the house until the plumbing was fixed.
7/16/25 - 3 P.M. - LEVELLAND
The LFD received a report of a forklift accident at a business in the 1900 block of West Ave. Dispatch advised an individual was trapped underneath a forklift that had rolled over on its side. Upon arrival, Levelland EMS along with bystanders performed CPR on the individual. Said individual was no longer trapped underneath the forklift upon the LFD’s arrival. The LFD and EMS assisted moving the individual from the incident area to the ambulance.
7/16/25 - 12 P.M. - HOCKLEY COUNTY
The LFD received a forcible entry request by Hockley County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) at a residence in the 6000 block of Deer Road. Upon arrival, the responding untis were advised of an individual believed to be inside with a medical problem. The deputy requested fire personnel to force entry into residence. Once inside, the occupant was not able to respond appropriately. Levelland EMS arrived on scene and transported the patient.
7/16/25 - 7:30 A.M - LEVELLAND
The LFD received a report of a fire alarm activation in the 1400 block of E. Ellis Street. Staff informed the department that the fire system was being worked on and unintentionally transmitted the fire alarm. Staff also stated there was no fire and the LFD was not needed.
7/12/25 - 4:30 A.M. - LEVELLAND
LFD units were dispatched to a report of a potential dumpster fire in the 1700 block of Wilson. Responding units were unable to locate the reported fire. Fire personnel made contact with the reporting party and were advised the fire was out but could not provide the location. Crews drove throughout the reported area again but could not find the fire. The reporting party was advised that the fire was not located before clearing the area.
7/11/25 - 8 P.M. - LEVELLAND
Dispatch informed the LFD that the LPD (Levelland Police Department) needed assistance opening a vehicle that a child was locked in. Responding to the call, fire personnel utilized tools to let the window down and gain access to the vehicle.
7/10/25 - LEVELLAND
The LFD received a report of a smoking oven at a residence in the 1800 block of McKinley Street. Responding units made contact with the homeowner outside of the residence and was informed the oven had been unplugged. Fire personnel checked the residence and set up a fan. The homeowner had already opened the windows to clear out smoke. Fire personnel located and forced opened the locked stove and located a cardboard box in the oven. Fire units extinguished the box and made the oven safe. The homeowner stated that it was the first time he had turned on the oven as it was new. LFD units cleared the house of smoke and cleared the scene.
