Levelland ISD built a new website over the summer. The older website was hosted by Gabbart. ParentSquare purchased that from them, renaming it SmartSites, forcing LISD to make the change. Cristal Isaacks designed the new website to closely resemble the old one, so that users wouldn’t have to relearn everything. “You should be able to navigate the website like the old one,” Isaacks said. “The new website is much better, with improved ADA compliance, and should be easier to read. It is also easily accessible on both PCs and phones.”
Isaacks also noted, “Once you download the app and log in, if you don’t get an invitation to join, that means your email doesn’t match the address in the Skyward system. If this happens, please call your campus registrar and change your email address and it will update that evening after hours.”
The ParentSquare app is how they will communicate with all parents and students. It should be similar to Remind, but with added features such as translation of languages and setting the time parents wish to receive messages from teachers. This should keep parents from hearing dings all day long. It is also easier for one-onone communication with teachers because it transcribes the conversation into text for principals.
