LFD Report

7/2/25 – 10A.M. – HOCKLEY COUNTY

The LFD were dispatched to a second wreck near Highway 114 and Owl Road. Units arrived to everyone out of their vehicles. The LFD were advised by DPS they could clear the scene and return to the station.

7/2/25 – 8:30A.M. – HOCKLEY COUNTY

The LFD were dispatched to a report of a semi that had hydroplaned and was blocking traffic near Highway 114 and Owl Road. Upon arrival the driver was out of the truck and oriented. The LFD assisted EMS with loading the patient. Once EMS was clear the LFD remained on scene until the wrecker was on scene. All units cleared the scene and returned to town once released.

7/1/25 – 4 P.M. - HOCKLEY COUNTY The LFD was dispatch to a residence located in the 3400 block of Dallas Road for a dryer on fire. The fire was put out prior to arrival. Fire personel moved the dryer outside and checked for any additional hot spots.

6/30/25 – 6:30 P.M. - HOCKLEY COUNTY The LFD were dispatched to a reported tank battery fire near Mexico Road and Harford Road. Responing units were met with heavy black smoke and an active fire coming from a ruptured oil pipe. Flames were visible and presenting a hazard to nearby equipment and vegetation. The LFD extinguished the fire utilizing the deck gun. KBar Energy was on scene and was able to successfully shutoff the pipeline that was spewing oil. After deeming the area safe and ensuring the fire was extinguished, the LFD returned to the station.

6/30/25 – 2 P.M. - HOCKLEY COUNTY The LFD arrived on scene to a reported gas meter struck by a lawn mower in the 800 block of Highway 385. Atmos Energy personnel showed the LFD the affected meter. A natural gas smell was noticeable walking up to the meter. Units then returned to the apparatus to standby while Atmos Energy dug up the meter and replaced it with a new one. After deeming the area safe, units returned to the station.
