AUSTIN — Cristal Isaacks, the library coordinator for Levelland ISD, took office June 1 as president-elect of the Texas Classroom Teachers Association. Isaacks was elected in February during the 2025 TCTA Convention in Austin.
She will serve as presidentelect during the 2025-26 school year before becoming TCTA’s statewide president in the 2026-27 school year, when TCTA celebrates its 100 th anniversary. She will serve as immediate past president during the 2027-28 school year.
Over the next three years, Isaacks will help guide the association’s efforts as it works to enhance the teaching profession and provide a full array of services, including legislative advocacy, to its members.
A TCTA member since 1989, Isaacks has previously served on the 10-member TCTA Board of Directors as Curriculum & Instruction Director. She has also served on the Board in several other positions over the years and on TCTA’s Advisory Council, representing District 17. She is actively involved in Levelland CTA,where she currently serves as president and the District 17 Treasurer.
The Texas Classroom Teachers Association is the leading teacher association in Texas. Founded in 1927, TCTA is a nonprofit, independent professional association based in Austin.
It is the only statewide teachers’ association that limits membership to those directly involved in classroom teaching or teaching support, including librarians, counselors and teacher aides.
