Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar will distribute $1.5 billion in local sales tax allocations for February, which is a 9.4% increase from February 2024.
These allocations are based on sales made in December by businesses that report tax monthly; October, November and December sales by quarterly filers; and 2024 sales by businesses that report tax annually.
Cities received $936.2 million in allocations for a 8.7% increase from February 2024. It is a 4.7% year-to-date increase.
Transit systems received $311.4 million in allocations for a 6.1% increase from February 2024. It is a 3.6% year-to-date increase.
Counties received $89.8 million in allocations for a 13.2% increase from February 2024. It is a 7.8% year-to-date increase.
Special purpose districts received $149.7 million in allocations for a 19.6% increase from February 2024. It is a 12.4% year-to-date increase.
February’s total payments for Hockley and Cochran County cities were outlined in the Monthly Sales Tax Allocation Comparison Summary Reports.
The total payment to Levelland was $469,692.24, a 3.84% increase from last February’s $452,309.41 payment.
The year-to-date payment to Levelland was $870,138.54, a 4.26% increase from the February year-to-date payment of $834,546.78.
The total payment to Anton was $10,756.33, a 4.29% decrease from last February’s $11,239.44 payment.
The year-to-date payment to Anton was $19,138.39, a 2.56% increase from the February 2024 year-to-date payment of $18,658.94.
The total payment to Opdyke West was $542.38, a 3.35% decrease from last February’s $561.20 payment.
The year-to-date payment to Opdyke West was $935.48, a 4.99% decrease from the February 2024 year-to-date payment of $984.62.
The total payment to Ropesville was $15,686.56, a 24.24% increase from last February’s $12,625.26 payment.
The year-to-date payment to Ropesville was $29,671.58, a 23.10% increase from the February 2024 year-to-date payment of $24,102.03.
The total payment to Smyer was $7,287.02, a 24.24% increase from last February’s $5,864.89 payment.
The year-to-date payment to Smyer was $13,172.41, a 6.78% increase from the February 2024 year-to-date payment of $12,335.92.
The total payment to Sundown was $37,595.19, a 4.80% increase from last February’s $35,870.66 payment.
The year-to-date payment to Sundown was $66,554.58, a 10.35% decrease from the Febuary 2024 year-to-date payment of $74,244,93.
The total payment to Morton was $20,148.15, a 36.09% increase from last February’s $14,804.57 payment.
The year-to-date payment to Morton was $32,835.79, a 19.63% increase from the Febuary 2024 year-to-date payment of $27,447.10.
The total payment to Whiteface was $3,430.32, a 5.52% increase from last February’s $3,250.87 payment.
The year-to-date payment to Whiteface was $6,301.16, 3% increase from the February 2024 year-to-date payment of $6,117.56.
