The investigation continues in the death of a man in Levelland.
Gregorio Nathaniel Mendieta was pronounced dead at the scene after officers responded to a call that a man was lying in the middle of the roadway in the early morning hours of Sunday, October 20.
Mendieta was found unresponsive and face down in the middle of the 1700 block of Wilson Street with a single gunshot wound.
Investigators have not uncovered a motive for the shooting, but preliminary information indicates that Mendieta was conversing with an unknown individual in a pickup truck. Detectives are seeking information regarding the identity of this individual.
