A stash generally refers to a secret supply of something that one has hidden away from others, and reserved for one’s own personal usage or consumption when the need or desire presents itself.
The stash of a drug junkie consists of illicit drugs or controlled substances. His or her stash is kept out of view of other people, especially those people who are in positions with disciplinary authority.
In some environments, his or her stash is kept out of view from other junkies, who in desperation, would do just about anything to get his or her next fix.
Alcoholics are known to stash away liquor bottles and containers filled with alcoholic beverages in numerous hiding places around their houses, property, vehicles, and places of employment in order to conceal their usage or the amount of alcohol that they are consuming.
In the spiritual realm, there are two types of stash that are out of view of other people.
They too, are stored up for future use by opposing forces in the realm of spiritual warfare.
Most spiritual warfare does not involve the type of activity portrayed in horror movies, or recorded in such passages of Scripture as Mark 5: 1-16.
Most spiritual combat takes place in the unseen soul structures of every human being, every day of the week.
The overt behavior and activity, good or bad, that IS seen, is not the battle itself, but is the result of the spiritual victory or defeat of the individual who chose to submit himself or herself to the influence of one stash or the other.
Every word that comes out of our mouths, and every action we take, is the result of choices we have made.
Matt. 7: 24, 25 teaches us the value of having had a good stash on hand before the need arises.
This good stash consists of the accumulated principles of Bible Doctrine, that circulates in the edified soul structure of an advancing disciple.
It is these principles that provides the advancing disciple with the Biblical answers needed to endure or to escape temptation or the storms of life.
However, having the answers will not do one any good if they are not applied (1).
Matt. 7: 26, 27 warns us of a pending collapse for not having, or not applying, the good stash that we (should) have had on hand before the need presents itself.
For a born again believer, this collapse is NOT the loss of salvation (2), but a successful satanic attack on the post salvation spiritual life of a believer who has been overcome by the pressure and or storms of life.
If not restored, the born again believer has been removed from the spiritual battlefield.
At the very least, the individual has been rendered unproductive (3), and therefore poses no threat to the devil’s agenda.
In this the devil is wellpleased.
Just as God the Holy Spirit brings the good stash to the conscious minds of advancing disciples, Satan and his Eph. 6: 12 forces of evil will bring to their conscious minds all the trash that they have also chosen to store away in their soul structures.
Satan, having mastered the art of spiritual warfare, knows just when and what to bring forward for maximum effect.
This stash of trash consists of all the false principles and practices of Man-made religion (4), and all the distractions that would take souls away from the general (5) and individual (6) plan that God has in mind.
These distractions obviously consist of anything that the Bible labels as sin, but can also consist of relatively good things, if and when, such things take the place of priority that belongs to God or the things of God.
While Scripture calls for the ongoing intake (7) and application (8) of Bible Doctrine under the teaching ministry of a Biblically qualified pastor-teacher, we are bombarded daily with human viewpoint and doctrines that are taught or promoted by demons (9).
By frequently conducting 2Cor. 13: 5 self-examinations, one can assess and address both the good and the bad stashes that we have stored away in the memory banks of our soul structures.
Our good stash is addressed by inspecting (and amending) it for Biblical consistency and personal application.
Our bad stash is addressed by its removal, denying the devil the use of a vital resource in the realm of spiritual warfare.
