Planning and Zoning to consider rezoning CR 838

The City of Levelland Planning and Zoning Commission will hold its regular meeting on Jan. 20 at 6 p.m.

The commission is expected to consider and recommend rezoning CR 838 from SF-2 to B-2 Zone. Upon recommendation, the rezoning willbe taken to the Levelland City Council for approval.

In Texas, the main difference between an SF-2 Zone (Single-Family 2) and a B2 Zone (Neighborhood Business-Arterial) is that SF-2 is for lower-density detached homes, requiring larger lots, while B-2 allows limited neighborhood commercial uses like small shops and services along main roads, plus some higher-density residential, serving a broader community need. SF-2 focuses on traditional housing character, whereas B2 balances residential proximity with local commercial convenience and traffic.

The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at the city hall.
