The Smyer City board of aldermen will be holding its regular meeting on Nov. 12 at 6:30 p.m. at Smyer Senior Citizen’s Building.
Aldermen are expected to consider and take action on the official ballot for the Hockley County Appraisal District board of director’s election for the 2026-27 term, as well as an ordinance regarding the city’s Texas Municipal Retirement System Benefits authorizing an increase to the employee contribution rate.
Aldermen are also expected to consider and take action on an ordinance adopting “Ten Texas Traits of Good Government for Smyer.”
Other agenda items expected to be considered for possible action include approving the Capital Improvement & Comprehensive Plan, approving fiscal year Oct. 1, 2023 - Sept. 30, 2024, and Oct. 1, 2024 – Sept. 30, 2025, as well as any necessary action on building permits.
Aldermen are expected to hear the engineer report, fire department report, and water, wastewater report, and take action on the financial report.
