SPC board of Regents to meet on May 7

The SPC board of regents will be meeting in the administration building on May 7 at 4 p.m.

The board is expected hear and act on any action items.

The vice president for Academic Affairs is expected to present information on the SB 37 Curriculum Review Process, curriculum changes and employee service awards.

The vice president for Student Affairs is expected to give a graduation and student awards update.

The vice president for Institutional Advancement is expected to present the Foundation 2026-2027 Scholarship Budget and schedule of scholarship presentations.

The vice president for Business Affairs is expected to give a tax office report, financial report and resale of property report.

The SPC president’s report is expected to include legislative and construction updates, and items for approval for upcoming coming construction projects including the Baker Center electrical upgrade, Stround Hall drain line replacement, Lubbock CTC parking lot repair, Lubbock Downtown Center parking lost repair and Plainview Cosmetology counter replacement.

South Plains College will host its 67th Spring Commencement Ceremony May 8 at Texan Dome. Two ceremonies are scheduled, with the first at 9:30 a.m. and the second at 1 p.m., featuring 1,166 applicants. The event includes 120+ dual-credit graduates.
