Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar will distribute $1.2 billion in local sales tax allocations for December, which is a 6.8% increase from December 2023’s total allocations.
Cities received $720.3 million in allocations for a 5.7% increase from December 2023. It is a 1.9% year-to-date increase.
Transit systems received $245.5 million in allocations for a 6.8% increase from December 2023. It is a 1.9% year-to-date increase.
Counties received $71.6 million in allocations for a 8.1% increase from December 2023. It is a 2% year-to-date increase.
Special purpose districts received $113.3 million in allocations for a 13.1% increase from December 2023. It is a 5.2% year-to-date increase.
December’s total payments for Hockley and Cochran County cities were outlined in the Monthly Sales Tax Allocation Comparison Summary Reports.
The total payment to Levelland was $420,700.50, a 24.72% increase from last December’s $337,312.17 payment.
The year-to-date payment to Levelland was about $4.938 million, a .15% increase from the December 2023 year-to-date payment of about $4.930 million.
The total payment to Sundown was $44,867.10, a 59.43% increase from last December’s $28,140.70 payment.
The year-to-date payment to Sundown was $468,435.56, a 7.04% decrease from the December 2023 year-to-date payment of $503,934.86.
The total payment to Smyer was $7,318.80, a 31.35% increase from last December’s $5,571.63 payment.
The year-to-date payment to Smyer was $76,391.45, a 17.16% increase from the December 2023 year-to-date payment of $65,198.26.
The total payment to Ropesville was $14,201.16, a 17.92% increase from last December’s $12,042.22 payment.
The year-to-date payment to Ropesville was $146,407.53, a 4.08% increase from the December 2023 year-to-date payment of $140,657.44.
The total payment to Anton was $8,694.09, a 22.16% increase from last December’s $7,116.62 payment.

The total payment to Whiteface was $2,619.23, a 11.28% decrease from last December’s $2,952.52 payment.
