The Wallace Theater has announced a call for clothing and accessories that showcase 20thcentury (years 1901-2000) women’s fashion.
The Wallace Theater’s fifth annual pop-up museum, showcasing in late spring, features Levelland High School students from the National History Day program and members of the South Plains College WEBB Historical Society. The museum will explore the transformative role of women’s fashion, showcasing the intersection of clothing, culture, and the progress women have achieved in society.
The Wallace invites the citizens of Hockley County to contribute family artifacts that showcase women’s fashion and personal style throughout the 20th century. Examples of accepted artifacts include: Clothing & Accessories- Dresses, hats, gloves, handbags, shoes, aprons, or uniforms from any decade of the 20th century. These artifacts will be displayed in a curated pop-up museum, offering families a unique opportunity to share and celebrate the stories of Hockley County’s women—our mothers, grandmothers, and trailblazers— who expressed themselves through fashion and personal style. The Wallace Theater is set to accept family artifacts on loan from the community on the following dates: April 11, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
April 13, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Artifacts will be accepted at the Brasch-Mitchell Building located at 515 Ave.G, or by appointment at Cathie@WallaceTheater.com. For any questions, please call (806)523-8773.
