Two Whiteface students and members of the Whiteface Marching Band have the rare opportunity to march with the High School All American Band at the Macy’s Day Parade on Nov. 27.
Bhrett Driver and Keeley Timmons will become two the select few honoring America’s finest high school musicians, color guard members and dancers, this band will be composed of select students from across the United States.
Bhrett Driver, a senior drum major for the Whiteface Band, plays 1st trumpet and attended the 1A UIL State Marching Competition in 2021 and 2023, making the finals both years. In 2024, Whiteface was in the 2AArea marching finals placing 5th, and in his senior year the band put on ‘The Greatest Show’ and again advanced to 2A Area competition earning a spot in the top 10.
Driver has been a member of the ATSSB All Region Band in 2023 and 2024, the ATSSB Honor Band in 2025.
Bhrett has attended the Texas State Solo and Ensemble competition five times in his high school music career and has earned his spot in the 99th Macy’s Day Parade In New York City.
Driver auditioned this past January for the opportunity to be a part of the High School All American band. He was contacted in March with a letter of ‘Congratulations’ welcoming to the Macy’s Great American Marching Band for the 99th annual parade.
Timmons is a junior sousa/tuba section leader for the Whiteface Band. She is 1st chair tuba and in her marching career has had the opportunity to march at the 1A UIL State Marching competition in 2023, making the finals and placing fourth. In 2024, Whiteface made 2A Area marching finals placing 5th, and in her junior year advanced to 2AArea and made the top 10.
Timmons has been a member of the ATSSB All Region Band in 2024 and the ATSSB Honor Band in 2023. She has attended the Texas State Solo and Ensemble competition twice and has been selected for the Macy’s Day Parade. Timmons auditioned in January for the High School All American band and was contacted in September.
The All American band is under the direction of Dr. Richard Good, Auburn University, Alex Shive, percussion director at Cass High School, Mr. Bart Woodley flag instructor at WGI, and Kailene Laga, dance instructor.
The staff is also assisted by several talented music educators from across the country who serve as section instructors for the winds and percussion and assist in teaching the music, Herald Square drill and parade formation. There are 185 musicians who will be complemented by approximately 40 flags and dancers.
The 99th Macy’s Parade lineup will feature more than 5,000 volunteers, 32 balloons, three ballonicles, 27 floats, four specialty units, 33 clown groups, 11 marching bands, performance groups and music’s biggest stars, all welcoming Santa Claus and the holiday season.
