6/6/25 – 11 A.M. – LEVELLANDThe LFD responded to the 300 block of Dogwood after a report from a residential caregiver who stated they observed sparks coming from the oven. The responding crew located and turned off the electrical breaker to the oven.

Golden Spread Classic begins Thurs. through Sat.

The Golden Spread Classic will be held at the Mallet Event Center and Arena with steers and heifers showings starting on Thursday and ending Saturday.Check in will begin on Thursday and showings will begin Friday. NFIB announces small business optimism increases slightly in May

AUSTIN – The NFIB Small Business Optimism Index increased by three points in May to 98.8, slightly above the 51-year average of 98.Expected business conditions and sales expectations contributed the most to the rise in the index. The Uncertainty Index rose two points from April to 94.
