DSHS provides South Plains measles update

The Texas Department of State Health Services is reporting an outbreak of measles in the South Plains and Panhandle regions of Texas.As of April 25, 646 cases have been identified since late January. Sixty-four of the patients have been hospitalized.

SPC sets annual Police Officer Memorial Service

South Plains College’s annual Peace Officer Memorial Service will take place at 10 a.m. on April 30 on the lawn of the Levelland campus entrance.The event will honor law enforcement officers whose lives were lost while serving and protecting citizens across the United States in 2024.

Texas labor market continues growth streak

Texas' economy continued its strong performance in March, with the labor market achieving record highs in both total jobs and the size of the civilian labor force.Texas added 26,500 positions over the month to reach a total of 14,282,600 nonfarm jobs.
