Various Texas schools celebrate Arbor Day

Texas A&M Forest Service foresters and staff celebrated Texas Arbor Day with school presentations, tree plantings and tree giveaways across the state.Over 10,100 tree seedlings were given to students and communities members throughout the day.

Recipients of Texas Broadband Pole Replacement Program announced

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced an initial award of about $18.5 million in grant funding benefiting 17 counties across the state as part of the Texas Broadband Pole Replacement Program.

TDLR conducts one week sting operation

During a recent one-week undercover sting in the Austin area, investigators from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) found a total of 102 violations, mostly by unlicensed electricians and air conditioning and refrigeration contractors who offered to perform unlicensed work.

Gov. Greg Abbott deploys wildfire resources

Governor Greg Abbott today deployed additional wildfire response resources as part of the state’s ongoing wildfire response in Bastrop County to support local firefighting efforts to contain and suppress the Hudson Fire which has burned over 400 acres.
