SPC Regents begin vacancy appointment process

During Thursday’s South Plains College (SPC) Board of Regents meeting, it was decided to fill the vacancy spot within the group through the appointment process.Following the resignation of Position 2 Regent Ty Gregory a few months back, the board deliberated the path to choose to fill the opening.

Vehicle inspection rules change January 1

Beginning January 1, 2025, Texas vehicle owners will no longer be required to obtain a safety inspection prior to vehicle registration.House Bill 3297, passed during the 88th Legislature in 2023, abolishes the vehicle safety inspection program for noncommercial vehicles.

9/5/24 – DISPATCHED 2:35 P.M. – CLEARED 3:10 P.M. LEVELLAND The Levelland Fire Department was dispatched to down power lines near the 1000 block of College Avenue. Units found two poles and lines on the ground, and Xcel was already on the scene. The scene was deemed safe and Xcel resumed command.
