The Levelland Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors (LEDC) will be holding a regular meeting Thursday, May 16, beginning at 12 p.m. at City Hall.

Lubbock TxDOT district plans virtual public meeting, May 17

Texas Department of Transportation will be presenting a virtual public meeting for the proposed 2025-2028 Rural Transportation Improvement Program (Rural TIP) for the Lubbock TxDOT District. No inperson meeting will be held.

TxDOT focus on motocyclist safety during May

Motorcyclists are more vulnerable to crashes and can be harder to spot for other drivers.Because of this, motorcyclists have a higher risk of being injured or killed in crashes compared to people in cars.The number of motorcyclist deaths in Texas has increased every year since 2020.

Hockley County Sheriff’s Report

The fire department received a report of a fire in the backyard of a residence located in the 1200 block of Avenue L. Upon arrival, fire personnel discovered two structures fully involved. Xcel Energy was contacted to shutoff power to the residence.

LISD early out dismissal times for summer release

There will be an early dismissal on Friday, May 17, for LISD.The Academic Beginnings Center will be dismissed at 12 p.m.Capitol and South Elementary will be dismissed at 12 p.m.The Levelland High School and Levelland Middle School will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m.
