Earth Day is usually celebrated with events such as tree planting and environmental cleanups to honor the Earth as home.In Levelland, in recognizing Earth Day and Arbor Day, the City of Levelland Parks and Recreation partnered with Keep Levelland Beautiful to plant a tree at Oxy Sports Complex.

The Levelland City Council General and Special Election is set for May 2 Polling location is at the Hockley County Tax Office at 911 Austin Street from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.Voters of District A will be choosing a city council member to represent that district.
SWAT CERTIFICATION COURSE--The Hockley County Sheriff's Office recognized Deputy Ortega and Deputy Diaz for successfully completing an intensive 60-hour Basic SWAT Certification Course through P2 Concepts held from April 13-17 in Lubbock. The demanding course required exceptional discipline, advanced tactical skill and resilience. Throughout the training, both deputies demonstrated a commitment to excellence and a dedication to sharpening the skills necessary to serve and protect the community

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) has filed a preliminary Long-Term Load Forecast for 2026–2032.Customers with the largest energy usage were currently data centers, cryptocurrency mining, industrial, and oil and gas processes, according to ERCOT.
