12/11/2023 - DISPATCHED 1:31 A.M. - CLEARED 1:58 A.M. HOCKLEYCOUNTY LFD personnel were dispatched to a small grass fire on the east side of the road just past the Broken Spur Event Center. Units located the near the intersection of Highway 385 and Delaware Road.

E-cigarette reminder issued toward retailers

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar is reminding retailers that beginning Jan. 1, 2024, it will be a crime in Texas to market, advertise, sell or cause to be sold an ecigarette product in certain containers that are designed to appeal to minors.

SPAG relaunches safe room program

The South Plains Association of Governments (SPAG) is re-launching their ‘Regional Safe Room Rebate Program’. This program administered by SPAG is funded through FEMA and the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) is open for applications as of December 6.

TWC awards Texoma, high demand careers job training grant

The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) has awarded Workforce Solutions Texoma a $150,000 High Demand Job Training (HDJT) grant to prepare area workers for long-term, highdemand careers.
