County commissioners hold regular meeting

The Hockley County Commissioners Court on Monday held its regular meeting as well as a public meeting.The public meeting was conducted to address and hear concerns regarding the proposed Hockley County, Texas guidelines and criteria for tax abatement and other economic development guidelines.

The Levelland Fire Department

The Levelland Fire Department provided mutual aid assistance to the Sundown VFD on Wednesday in putting out a pumpjack fire. No injuries were reported.

Grand Jury indicts two people

The Hockley County grand jury indicted two individuals on Jan. 8.Niaco Perez-Copes, 22, was indicted for theft, more than $2,500 and less than $30,000.

CDC overhauls children’s vaccine schedule

The U.S. is dropping the number of vaccines it recommends for every child, while leaving other immunizations open to families to make a choice on.

Commissioner’s Court to hold special meeting

The Hockley County Commissioners’ Court will hold a special public meeting on Jan. 12 at 9 a.m.

Levelland Police Report

Dec. 171:12 a.m. – Officers dispatched to the 100 block of Willow Wood for an assault that already occurred. Subjects involved were contacted and a report filed.3:00 p.m. – Officers/ CIT dispatched to the area of Washington regarding an individual with mental health and substance abuse issues.
