Hockley County Grand Jury returns March indictments

The 286th Judicial District Attorney’s Office announced that a Hockley County Grand Jury returned 11 indictments.

Emilio Joel Vidales, was charged with driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 years of age, committed on or about August 25, 2024. The indictment states Vidales operated a motor vehicle in a public place while the defendant was intoxicated and the vehicle was occupied by a passenger who was younger than 15 years of age.

Ramon Villarreal, was charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1/1-b, between four grams and 200 grams, committed on or about July 29, 2024. The indictment states Villarreal knowingly possessed a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine in an amount of four grams or more but less than 200 grams.

Elias Mata, was charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1/1-b, less than one gram, committed on or about January 5. The indictment states Mata knowingly possessed a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine in an amount of less than one gram.

Michael Anthony Briseno, was charged with the burglary of a habitation with intent of another felony, committed on or about December 11, 2024. The indictment states Briseno intentionally entered a habitation without the effective consent of the owner and attempted to commit or committed an assault against the owner.

Steven Bara, was charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1/1-b, less than one gram, committed on or about October 2, 2024. The indictment states Bara knowingly possessed a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine in an amount of less than one gram.

Justin Trey Thoms, was charged with credit card abuse or debit card abuse of the elderly, committed on or about November 30, 2024. The indictment states Thoms had the intent to fraudulently obtain, use a debit card knowing the card had not been issued to the defendant. Knowing the card was not issued in the defendant’s name, the defendant committed the offense against an elderly individual 65 years of age or older.

Gorge Ruiz Salazar, was charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1/1-b, less than one gram, committed on or about June 6, 2024. The indictment states Salazar knowingly possessed a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine in an amount of less than one gram.

Jessica Garza, was charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1/1-b, between four grams and 200 grams, committed on or about June 5, 2024. The indictment states Garza knowingly possessed a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine in an amount of four grams or more but less than 200 grams.

Pablo Martinez, was charged with sexual assault of a child, committed on or about October 24, 2024.

Dave Lawrence Brackens, was charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1/1-b, between one gram and four grams, committed on or about November 6, 2024. The indictment states Brackens knowingly possessed a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine in an amount of one gram or more but less than four grams.

Henry Tienda Jr., was charged with the possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver penalty group 1, between 200 grams and 400 grams, committed on or about June 12, 2024. The indictment states the defendant knowingly possessed with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine in an amount of 200 grams or more but less than 400 grams.
