Levelland Fire Report

3/19/25 - 12:42 A.M. - LEVELLAND

The LFD received a report of a downed power line near the 1500 block of Avenue D. Upon arrival LPD was on scene, no lines were in the roadway. Contact was made with Excel and the responding fire personnel was released from the scene by LPD who would remain on scene until Excel arrived.

3/18/25 - 1 P.M. - HOCKLEY COUNTY

Units with the LFD were dispatched to U.S. Highway 84 east of Anton to assist on a grass fire. While enroute, LFD was told to cancel their response as the fire was under control by another agency.

3/18/25 - 5 P.M. - HOCKLEY COUNTY

Units with the LFD were dispatched to the 3200 block of Drill Stem Road in regard to a grass fire. Sundown FD also responded to the call. Upon arrival, the LFD found a power pole burning and a small bar ditch fire. Lyntegar Electric was contacted. The bar ditch fire was extinguished. Sundown FD was cancelled while the LFD and Hockley County Sheriff blocked the roadway until Lyntegar turned the power off and released all units.

3/14/25 - 7 P.M. - LEVELLAND

The LFD was dispatched to the 100 block of Veretto Road to assist EMS.

3/14/25 - 6 P.M. - LEVELLAND

The LFD was dispatched to the 100 block of Alaska Road in regard to an electrical transformer arcing. Upon arrival there was no fire, Excel was contacted and the LFD stood by until their arrival. Upon Excels arrival, the LFD was released and returned to the station.

3/14/25 - 2 P.M. - LEVELLAND

The LFD responded to a motor vehicle accident near the 3000 block of Alamo Road. The LFD discovered two vehicles with minor damages. Responding units assisted Levelland EMS before being released from the scene.

3/14/25 - 2 P.M. - LEVELLAND

LFD units were dispatched to the 1400 block of Ellis Street in reference to an alarm. After meeting with a representative the individual stated they were fine.

3/14/25 - 2 P.M. - LEVELLAND

The LFD responded to the 1300 block of 8th Street in reference to

a gas leak. An investigation of the area showed there was no leak.

3/14/25 - 1 P.M. - LEVELLAND

The LFD responded to a report of a downed power line near Ash Avenue and Holly Street. The LFD blocked the area until Excel crews arrived and were released from the scene.

3/14/25 - 1 P.M. - LEVELLAND

The LFD responded to the 300 block of Douglas in reference to a resident reporting an electrical issue. Upon arrival, power lines were sparking due to high winds but had stopped due to the power going out in the area.

3/14/25 - 12:38 P.M. - LEVELLAND

The LFD responded to a motor vehicle accident at S. College Avenue and Cactus Road. While enroute, the LFD was cancelled by Levelland EMS.

3-14-25 - 12:25 P.M. - HOCKLEY COUNTY

The LFD responded to FM 2646 and Cactus Road in regard to a grass fire. Upon arrival the fire was out. The LFD checked the area for extension. The responding units cleared the area and returned to the station.

3-14-25 - 11:58 A.M. - HOCKLEY COUNTY

The LFD responded to FM 2646 and Cactus Road in regard to a grass fire. Upon arrival the fire was out. The responding units checked the area and everything was clear. The LFD cleared the scene and returned to the station.

3-14-25 - 7:20 A.M. - HOCKLEY COUNTY

The LFD responded to a report of a grass fire near Highway 114 and Olympia Road. Upon arrival, the LFD found a power line down in a plowed field. The appropriate electric company was contacted and on their arrival the LFD was released and returned to the station.

3/12/25 - 5 P.M. - HOCKLEY COUNTY

The LFD was dispatched to the 3100 block of Dallas Road to assist Smyer FD on a small grass fire less than 50 acres.

3/10/25 - 9 A.M. - HOCKLEY COUNTY

The LFD received a report of black smoke near Ironman Road and Drill Stem Road. Prior to arrival, a deputy with the HCSO advised there was a small fire in a pit that was unattended. Responding units extinguished the fire upon arrival. All units cleared the scene and returned to the station.

3/10/25 - 8 A.M. - LEVELLAND

The LFD received a report of a small brush fire near Kelly Road and Houston Street. Responding units located a downed power line and a small fire. Contact was made with the oil field representative while the fire was extinguished.

3/9/25 - 9 P.M. - LEVELLAND

LFD units were dispatched to the 500 block of Tim Street in regard to a gas smell. Responding units investigated the area but no smell or other indications were identified.

3/9/25 - 9 P.M. - LEVELLAND

LFD units were dispatched to the intersection of 10th Street and West Avenue in regard to smoke in the area. Responding personnel identified smoke coming from a BBQ pit. Units responding were cleared and returned to the station.

3/7/25 - 8 A.M. - LEVELLAND

The LFD received a report of an alarm going off in the 1400 block of Ellis Street. The station was notified the report was a false alarm and the call was cancelled.

3/5/25 – 9:04 P.M. – HOCKLEY COUNTY

The LFD received a report of a vehicle fire near U.S. Highway 114 and Hummingbird Road. While LFD crews were in enroute, Smyer VFD arrived on scene and cancelled the responding LFD crews.

3/5/25 – 5:50 P.M. – HOCKLEY COUNTY

LFD crews were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision near the intersection of FM 1585 and Hawk Road. Upon arrival, Smyer VFD was on scene and advised the responding LFD units to return to the station.

3/5/25 – 10:30 A.M. – HOCKLEY COUNTY

The LFD responded to a medical assist call from Levelland EMS in the 3100 block of FM 300. Upon arrival, the responding personnel performed a lift assist on a patient that needed to be transported.

3/5/25 – 10 A.M. – LEVELLAND

The LFD received a report of a gas odor in the 1300 block of Avenue H. Crews responding were unable to locate a source. Atmos was notified of the situation and sent personnel to the scene to investigate. Fire personnel were cleared and returned to the station.
