“Casas for CASA is a great example of how our community comes together for a common cause. Year after year, we see the incredible support from local families and businesses who are committed to helping the children in need,” said Jaclyn Morris, CEO of CASA of the South Plains. “This year, the stakes are higher as we face a growing demand for CASA volunteers. With hundreds of children waiting for the gift of a CASA, we’re calling on our community to help us meet this urgent need. By joining forces, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of these children and ensure they feel the love and protection they deserve.”

All funds raised during Casas for CASA remain in Lubbock and the five surrounding counties served by CASA of the South Plains. This event enables CASA to recruit, train, and support volunteers who advocate for children in foster care. A CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) ensures that children receive the resources they need while advocating for a safe, permanent home. Currently, about 400 children in our region are waiting for a CASA Volunteer Advocate.

CASA of the South Plains inspires, educates, and empowers solution-minded community members who are committed to supporting the best interest of children in the foster care system. Volunteer advocates create connections and promote nurturing relationships for the child and family, encouraging hope and healing.

Through court appointment and collaborative efforts, volunteer advocates share informed recommendations for the well-being of the child. CASA supports children in six counties in the South Plains: Cochran, Hale, Hockley, Lubbock, Terry, and Yoakum.

CASA’s impact includes: - 375 children received advocacy services from CASA of the South Plains in 2024.

- 218 CASA Volunteers donated a total of 7,180 hours in 2024, saving county taxpayers $394,900 in county paid attorneys’ fees.

- 89 youth in foster care found permanency with the help of their CASA Volunteer in 2024.

Community members can help by becoming a CASA Volunteer and help change a child’s life, become a CASA Donor or host a CASA 101 Informational Session.
