The Levelland Chamber of Commerce and Keep Levelland Beautiful proudly partnered with the Take Care of Texas Art Contest to host a local art competition this past February.
This year’s theme, “Positive Ways to Keep Our Air Clean,” inspired students to showcase creative ideas for protecting the environment and improving air quality.
A total of 117 students participated across four campuses: 20 from South Elementary, 73 from ABC Elementary, 26 from Capitol Elementary, and 1 from Levelland Middle School. Of those, 72 entries were submitted to the Take Care of Texas Art Contest, while 45 entries were submitted to the local art contest.
“We’re proud of all the young artists who shared their talents to help promote cleaner air and a healthier future,” stated the Chamber.
Congratulations to the winners: South Elementary School: Zyleigh Vidales, 2nd Grade Emilia Malanche, 3rd Grade Capitol Elementary School: Samantha Garza, 2nd Grade Aaliyah Mason, 3rd Grade Ja’Khaza Pegues, 4th Grade ABC Elementary School: Elena Rosales, Kindergarten Marisol Vidales, 1st Grade Levelland Middle School: Hildea Lawless, 5th Grade Each winner will receive a Walmart gift card, generously donated by Walmart, as a token of appreciation for their creativity and effort.
