Fire Report

4/30/25 – 5 P.M. – LEVELLAND

The LFD were dispatched to the 300 block of Pecan to reports of a five-year old stuck on a roof. The Fire department laddered the residence and proceeded to get the child off the roof. Once child was on the ground the fire department cleared the scene.

4/30/25 – 12:45 P.M. – LEVELLAND

The LFD were dispatched to highway 114 and Sherman Avenue to a multi-vehicle accident. The fire department remained on scene to help assist with traffic until proper resources arrived. Once the resources arrived the fire department cleared the scene and returned to the station.

4/29/25 – 10 A.M. –LEVELLAND

The LFD were dispatched to 168 and Foster to an explosion/fire with a diesel refueler. The LFD arrived at the scene to find the tanker smoking, there was no fire or persons on scene. T9 arrived on the scene and started cooling down the back of the tanker with water. Once cooled off the firefighters noticed the rear of the tanker had bleved. Once the tanker was cooled, all units were cleared from the location without further incident.

4/28/25 – 4:45 A.M. – LEVELLAND

The LFD were dispatched to the 600 block of W. Jackson because of a report of a fire in the area. The LFD arrived at the scene where they were unable to find a fire. The LFD asked around for more information and was notified the caller did not see flames anymore. The LFD cleared the scene without further incident.

4/26/25 – 3:30 A.M. – LEVELLAND

The LFD were paged regarding a passenger stuck in a car in high water near FM168 and Iowa Road. Upon arrival the LFD were able to extricate the passengers where they were transported to the Hockley County Sheriff’s Office. The LFD cleared all units.

4/24/25 – 9 A.M. – LEVELLAND

The LFD were dispatched to the 1300 block of E M Barnes to an alarm at Forrest Hall. Once on scene, the LFD were advised that a humidifier set off the alarm. All units were cleared and returned to the station.

4/23/25 – 9A.M. – LEVELLAND

The Police Department advised the LFD of a gas leak in the alley behind the 100 block of Rip St. Upon arrival the gas meter was leaking around one of the connections. The gas was turned off until ATMOS could check the meter. The representative was advised that it was shut off until they could get there and check on it.

4/21/25 - 5 P.M. - LEVELLAND

The LFD received a page from dispatch regarding a car fire in the 500 block of 5th St. Upon arrival the fire was out. Units cooled off the motor compartment and cleared the scene.

4/21/25 - 11 P.M. - LEVELLAND

The LFD received a page from dispatch regarding a motor vehicle accident near Houston and Avenue K. Upon arrival LFD checked with units on scene. All units were cleared.

4/20/25- 11 P.M. - LEVELLAND

The LFD received a page from dispatch regarding a gas smell inside the business in the 400 block of Hwy 114. LFD checked the area where a small amount of CO was detected. The gas company was notified and gas to the building was shut off. LFD checked with personnel and all advised felt fine and aired the building out. All units were cleared.
