...Mary & Martha...

As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:38-42 NIV How many times are we like Martha, focused on our earthly concerns? Do we spend enough time just sitting with Jesus, reading His word, and listening to what He has to say to us? Do we truly realize that He is the answer to our problems? Oh, how we must let go of control, and turn our lives over to Him. Turing our lives over to Him does not mean that we will not have to work. The change will not be in that we no longer need to work. Instead ,the change will be what we work on. Learning to totally surrender our lives to the Lord is so much easier said than done, but as we begin to do so, we will see peace begin to enter in. Let Him be the One in charge. Be at peace in Christ.
