Graveside service for Rudy Leal Jr., age 55 , of Morton, Texas , were held at 2:00 PM , Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Morton Memorial Cemetery with Deacon Sergio Vidales officiating. Rosary was said at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at Ellis Funeral Home in Morton . Rudy died Friday, May 30, 2025 in Morton.
He was born April 17, 1970 in Levelland, Texas to Rudy and Maria (Piedra) Leal Sr.
Rudy was a farmer throughout all of his life, but had some side jobs as well. He worked for the Morton Tribune and also as a butcher at the Morton Thriftway. Rudy was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan, and enjoyed listening to his country music. He also loved joking around, cooking out and gardening. Above all, Rudy treasured his family and friends, enjoyed life and he was a true cowboy at heart.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a nephew, Dominic Leal Rodriguez; a niece, Cristabel Leal Rodriguez; and a brother-inlaw, Donnie M. Sanchez.
Rudy is survived by his four sisters, Emma Leal Morin and her husband, Jaime of Morton, Texas, Janie Leal of Morton, Texas, Ruby Leal Sanchez of Levelland, Texas and Christina Leal Rodriguez and her husband, Frank Sr. of Morton, Texas; a niece, Brandy Piña and her husband, Robert of Levelland, Texas; a nephew, Jarrod Morin and his wife, Rosa of Levelland, Texas; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Frank Rodriguez, Jr., Robert Xavier Piña, Alexandria Piña and Aryanna Piña, all of Levelland, Texas.
