Summer is here, residents are planting gardens, trimming trees, doing yard work, barbecuing, swimming, and parks and playgrounds are full.

We encourage all residents to take part in making the City of Levelland a safe, enjoyable, and inviting place for residents and visitors.

As a reminder every property owner and occupant are responsible for maintaining their property including between the front and side property lines and the adjoining street or streets, the area between the back property line and the centerline of the adjoining property, which includes the alley.

This not only helps to give clear access for utility crews and sanitation services, but keeps our neighborhoods looking clean, safe, and free of rodents, snakes, and other unwanted critters.

Maintaining your property includes but is not limited to: Keeping weeds, grass, and other vegetation under 6 inches Not allowing water to accumulate and stagnate on the property to avoid mosquitoes Making sure trash, rubbish, litter or waste matter is disposed of properly in the provided metal receptacles/dumpster Disposing of metal, construction debris, tires, furniture, and all like materials to the City of Levelland Sanitary Landfill If you are an animal owner, keeping your property free of animal feces and waste Keeping junked vehicles out of public view, behind a solid screen fence, or enclosed shop or garage Maintaining buildings, dwellings, accessory structures, cellars, etc. in accordance with the city code or ordinances and adopted building codes Working together is a sure way of keeping our community beautiful and a desirable place to live, work, play and for visitors to come, so if you can lend a helping hand to your neighbor, or help maintain that vacant property or alley, it would be greatly appreciated!
