The Hockley County Commissioners’ Court will be holding a regular meeting Monday, Aug. 4, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Hockley County Courthouse.
Agenda items set for the meeting include: Approve the minutes for the regular meetings held on July 28 at 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.; Read for approval all monthly bills and claims submitted to the Court dated through Aug. 4; Hear the monthly Public Assistance Report; Consider and take necessary action to approve a cash donation in the amount of $200 from Cru Terrel and Ryler Terrell to the Hockley County Veterans given from proceeds from a lemonade stand; Submission of the 2025, No-New-Revenue Tax Rate and Voter-Approval Tax Rate to the Court by Tax Assessor Misty Taylor; Consider and take necessary action to vote on the proposed tax rate for 2025; Consider and take necessary action to set the date and time for the public hearing on the tax rate and budget; Consider and take necessary action to approve no changes to the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles Imposition of Optional Fees for 2026; Consider and take necessary action to approve Ad Valorem tax refunds; Consider and take necessary action to approve the request of the City of Sundown for 200 yards of asphalt millings through the Hockley County Assistance Program with TxDOT; Discussion and potential action concerning approval of the Application to Request Use of Courthouse Lawn as submitted by The Door Christian Church to hold an outdoor concert on Aug. 9, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.; and Consider and take necessary action to approve the purchase of a 2025 Caterpillar 150 Motor Grader, Model serial number 0EB410106 with a trade-in of a 2019 Caterpillar Motor Grader, Model 140M3 from Warren Cat through Sourcewell for use in Precinct 1.
