SUNDOWN — August 9, 2025 — A new chapter of community support is underway with the official formation of Sundown Library & Parks Friends Group, a 509(c)(2) nonprofit charity dedicated to supporting and promoting the Sundown library and local parks through fundraising, volunteer efforts, and community engagement.
The group made its public debut with a booth at this year’s Oil Patch Days, inviting local individuals and businesses to become charter members and learn how they can help build a stronger community.
“This group will help us unlock new opportunities for programming, outreach, and community partnerships,” said A’ndrea McAdams, Library Director. “It’s about growing our impact for the future of Sundown, and that starts with people stepping in to advance the library and parks efforts.’” To celebrate the launch, Mojave Energy Services generously sponsored an oversized Yeti(r) cooler in a random drawing. Visitors who signed up at the booth received tiered discounts on membership fees, as well as raffle ticket entries.
Twenty members were added to the group.
