Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar will distribute $1.3 billion in local sales tax allocations for August, which is a 5.2% increase from August 2024.
These allocations are based on sales made in June by businesses that report tax monthly.
Cities received $805 million in allocations for a 4.5% increase from August 2024. It is a 4.3% year to- date increase.
Transit systems received $264.9 million in allocations for a 5.4% increase from August 2024. It is a 3.7% year-to-date increase.
Counties received $77.4 million in allocations for a 4.3 % increase from August 2024. It is a 5% year-to-date increase.
Special purpose districts received $127.6 million in allocations for a 10.4% increase from August 2024. It is a 9.5% year-to-date increase.
The August total payments for Hockley and Cochran County cities were outlined in the Monthly Sales Tax Allocation Comparison Summary Reports.
The total payment to Levelland was $426,117.89 which is a 5.98% decrease from the $453,241.41 payment allocated last August.
The year-to-date payment to Levelland was $3,398,098.10, a 4.78% increase from the August year-to-date payment of $3,242,948.58.
The total payment to Opdyke West was $326.87 which is a 12.44 decrease from the $373.31 payment allocated last August.
The year-to-date payment to Opdyke West was $3,450.09, a 11.75% decrease from the August 2024 year-to-date payment of $3,909.87.
The total payment to Sundown was $36,424.70 which is a 3.51% increase from the $35,187.34 payment allocated last August.
The year-to-date payment to Sundown was $306,831.71 a 6.41% increase from the August 2024 year-to-date payment of $288,345.93.
The total payment to Smyer was $7,815.90 which is a 22.61% increase from the $6,374.60 payment allocated last August.
The year-to-date payment to Smyer was $50,445.72, a 2.37% increase from the August 2024 year-to-date payment of $49,277.07.
The total payment to Ropesville was $17,400.05 which is a 34.46% increase from the $12,940.57 payment allocated last August.
The year-to-date payment to Ropesville was $110,088.02, a 18.45% increase from the August year-to-date payment of $92,936.14.
The total payment to Anton was $9,734.54 which is a .03% decrease from the $9,738.41 payment allocated last August.
The year-to-date payment to Anton was $78,172.03, a 4.42% increase from the August 2024 year-to-date payment of $74,861.74.
The total payment to Whiteface was $3,219.75 which is a 1.30% decrease from the $3,262.42 payment allocated last August.
The year-to-date payment to Whiteface was $23,974.54, which is a 4.84% decrease from the August 2024 year-to-date payment of $25,194.21.
The total payment to Morton was $15,207.05 which is a 2.98% increase from the $14,766.67 payment allocated last August.
