Levelland Fire Report

8/6/25 - 1 A.M. - HOCKLEY COUNTY

The LFD arrived on scene around the 100 block of Alamo to a wrecked vehicle. Levelland PD reported arcing was coming from power lines next to a trailer house nearby. Fire personnel made contact with the homeowner. A hot stick was used to see if there were still hot wires. It was concluded there were still hot wires; however, it was not a life threatening situation or an imminent fire hazard. The LFD requested Lamb County to be notified about the issue. Fire personnel deemed the area safe.

8/6/25 - 11:30 A.M. - HOCKLEY COUNTY

The LFD arrived on scene around 4200 U.S. Hwy 82, where dispatch advised them of a small fire in the median at said location. Upon arrival, units found a patch of very thick grass burning that was contained to the median. The LFD quickly extinguished the fire while law enforcement units blocked traffic. Wolfforth Fire Department also arrived on scene before the LFD extinguishing the flames and deployed a hand line to assist. The LFD then cleared the scene and returned to the station.

8/5/25 - 5:30 P.M. - HOCKLEY COUNTY

The LFD arrived on scene around the 500 block of Highway 114 where there was a two vehicle accident. Fire crew personnel maintained proper safety while wearing their safety vests and directed traffic. When the Levelland PD gave fire crew personnel an all clear, the units then returned back to the station.

8/4/25 - 11:30 A.M. - SMYER

The LFD arrived on scene around the 1800 block of Fisher Road where they received a call in reference to a vehicle on fire near the intersection of Fisher Road and Alaska Road. Dispatch advised that the Smyer Volunteer Fire Department was also being requested. Units responded to location. While en route, Smyer advised that one of their units would be responding. Upon arrival, fire and smoke showed from the vehicle. Fire personnel from Levelland and Smyer extinguished the fire. There were no other exposures or equipment involved and no injuries reported.

8/3/25 - 1 P.M. - HOCKLEY COUNTY

The LFD arrived on scene around the 100 block of Country Club where units were paged for a carbon monoxide detector activation. Once on scene there was no carbon monoxide present. After using the tri-gas monitor units were still unable to locate any source. Units determined that the carbon monoxide detectors in home needed to be changed. The homeowner was advised of the findings before clearing the scene.

8/3/25 - 4:30 P.M. - HOCKLEY COUNTY

The LFD arrived on scene on a five mile road where there were flames imminent within the area. Units utilized the front bumper nozzle for the initial offensive attack. After flames were knocked down, fire personnel utilized the master deck gun on the apparatus to extinguish hot-spots and areas that were still smoking. After several rounds of overhaul were made, the area was deemed safe.

8/1/25 - 8 P.M. - HOCKLEY COUNTY

The LFD arrived on scene around the 100 block of Alamo where there were reports of smoke inside a residence but no fire showing. Upon arrival there was an odor of smoke but no visible smoke. Fire personnel used thermal imaging cameras to check heat levels of the unit where the heat was originating. Temperatures continued to decline while on scene and no fire or extension was detected. After verifying there was no fire, they advised the homeowner if they felt uncomfortable with any situation to reach back out. The scene was deemed safe, and all units cleared and returned to the station and back into service.
