Levelland prepares for day of downtown festivities Oct. 4

Levelland Main Street and The Wallace Theater are proud to announce a full day of co-hosted celebration in Downtown Levelland on Saturday, October 4, 2025. The community-wide event will feature three marquee activities: the Hockley County Community Parade, the second annual ‘Falling for the Wallace’ Fall Festival, and the debut of the Cork & Keg wine and beer festival.

At the heart of the day is the Hockley County Community Parade, set to begin at 2:00 PM at Lobo Lake. The route will lead through Levelland’s historic downtown square, kicking off the downtown festivities with flair. The parade serves as a cornerstone event for both Falling for the Wallace and Cork & Keg.

This county-wide celebration welcomes residents from every town in Hockley County and beyond to take part in an afternoon filled with small-town charm and community spirit. Schools, businesses, civic organizations, and individuals are all invited to participate with creative entries, whether that’s floats, walking groups, performances, or decorated vehicles.

“This parade is a celebration of everything that makes Levelland and Hockley County special,” said Kelly Hancock, Levelland Main Street Manager. “It’s about bringing people together and honoring the traditions and talents of our community.” Parade entry is $10, and all entry fees will be donated directly back to nonprofit organizations in Hockley County. “What makes this parade even more meaningful is that first-place winners in each category will have the opportunity to give back to a nonprofit of their choosing right here in Hockley County,” said JoLenna Carter, Operations Director for The Wallace Theater.

“The parade and festival embody the spirit of community that defines our mission at the Wallace—creating experiences that entertain, inspire, and empower.”

Parade registration is now open and can be completed online at www.wallacetheater.com/ falling- for-the-wallace or by visiting the Levelland Main Street office.

Whether you’re joining the procession or cheering from the sidewalk, you’re invited to come celebrate the heartbeat of Hockley County—its people, its towns, and its enduring community pride.

Immediately following the parade, the community is invited to gather at the Downtown Gazebo for the announcement of the 2025 Levelland Legacy Award and Main Street Hero by the Levelland Main Street Board and Manager.

From 3 to 8 p.m., the downtown square will transform into a hub of fall fun during the Falling for the Wallace festival, hosted by The Wallace Theater. The festival will include live music, local shopping, food trucks, family-friendly activities, and even a Touch-a-Truck event courtesy of the City of Levelland. The Levelland Fire Department will also host a Fire Prevention Day experience for kids and families. Local vendors interested in setting up booths can apply via the Wallace Theater website. Booths are $50 for a 10’x10’ space, and all applications must be submitted by September 19. Vendors are responsible for their own setup, and specific regulations apply regarding tent stakes, alcohol, food permitting, and noise levels.

Capping off the day from 6 to 9 p.m. is the highly anticipated Cork & Keg, a reimagined version of Levelland’s former Sip & Swirl event. Guests 21 and up are invited to enjoy tastings from regional wineries and breweries, as well as small bites, exclusive shopping, and an intimate concert by the Jenni Dale Lord Band beginning at 7 p.m. “Cork & Keg is more than just a tasting event— it’s a celebration of community and partnerships,” said Kelly Hancock, Levelland Main Street Manager. “We’re thrilled to offer this experience as part of a larger Fall Festival downtown and invite everyone to come out and enjoy a fantastic evening.” Tickets are $30 and include one complimentary three-ounce tasting, a swag bag, and access to select vendors. Tickets will go on sale the week of August 11 at downtownlevelland.com or at the Main Street Office inside City Hall.
