The following will be discussed; Announcements and action items include: Present and consider Minutes of regular meeting of Sept. 9; -Consider and take necessary action on resolution to adopt budget for fiscal year 2026; - Consider and take necessary action on ordinance adopting new water rates- second reading; - Consider and take necessary action on ordinance adopting new sewer rates - second reading; - Consider and take necessary action on ordinance adopting new garbage collection rates second reading; - Consider and take necessary action on resolution nominating directors for the Hockley County Appraisal District (HCAD); - Consider and take necessary action on Ordinance regarding the City of Smyer’s TExas municipal retirement system benefits authorizing an increase to the employee contribution rate and removal of the statutory maximum contribution rate limit; -Consider and take necessary action on ordinance adopting of Ten Texas Traits of Good Government for the City of Smyer; -Consider and take necessary action on building permits ordinance; Review capital improvement and comprehensive plan; -Consider and take necessary action on building permits; Engineer report; -Report on fire department - facilities; Report on water/ wastewater - facilities; -Approve financial report; -Adjournment.
