Sundown Library celebrates National Friends of Libraries Week Oct. 19-25

Sundown Library & Parks Friends Group to celebrate National Friends of Libraries Week in October The Sundown Library will be spending the week of Oct. 19-25, celebrating its Friends of the Library group as part of the 20th annual celebration of National Friends of Libraries Week.

The Sundown Library will host an inaugural membership drive, including a $100 gift-card drawing for any new members, during the month of October.

The Sundown Library & Parks Friends Group has just been established this year and through a rural and small libraries grant from United for Libraries and Penguin Random House, the group has raised over $1,000 for the library and parks.

“We are grateful to collaborate volunteers and funds to assist in providing excellent services throughout two pivotal areas of our town,” says library director, A’ndrea McAdams.
