Funeral services held for Sharon Vaugh

Sharon Lea (Gerstenberger) Vaughan, 65 years old of Levelland, Texas joined her mother in Heaven on Sept. 30, 2025. She passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy illness.

Visitation was held Friday, Oct. 3,2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Krestridge Funeral Home in Levelland.

Services were held on Saturday, Oct. 4,2025 at 10:00 a.m. at First Methodist Church in Levelland.

Interment will follow immediately at the Levelland Municipal Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Robert Vaughan and by her father, Earl Gerstenberger and her brother, Brian Gerstenberger and his wife Julie all of Levelland. Her beloved children include Mike Vaughan and his wife Jayma of Georgetown, Texas; Chris Vaughan and his wife Lauren of Levelland, Texas; Tamara (Vaughan) Riley and her husband Matt of Abernathy, Texas; and Tara Dudley of Roswell, New Mexico.

Sharon’s great loves were her ten grandchildren: Andrew Vaughan and Brody Vaughan of Georgetown, Texas; Kendyll Dudley and Layton Dudley of Roswell, New Mexico; Bill Riley and Hank Riley of Abernathy, Texas; and Leilani Sanchez, Julian Sanchez, Danica Sanchez, and Ryker Vaughan of Levelland, Texas.

Her legacy of love and kindness lives on through the many nieces, nephews, and cousins who were blessed to call her family.

Sharon served the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services for 35 years. She was a staunch child advocate her entire career. She also faithfully served in the churches she attended including as pianist at St. Paul Lutheran Church and as music director at First Methodist Church, both in Levelland. She was an avid fan of SPC, Texas Tech, and all things Christmas.

Whatever Sharon did, she did it to the fullest and she brought others along to share in the blessing of the project. She loved completely, recruited enthusiastically, gave generously, and worked tirelessly.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Earl and June Gerstenberger Scholarship Endowment at South Plains College would be welcome.
