The City of Smyer has alerted it residents of upcoming changes regarding water service billing that began on Oct. 1.
An availability fee of $53 a month will apply to all properties within the city limits that are not currently connected to the city’s water system.
The city has deemed it necessary to help cover the ongoing costs of maintaining and operating the water system infrastructure that remains available to citizens should they choose to connect to it.
Properties already connected to the city water system will continue to be billed as usual and properties not connected will be billed the fee each billing cycle beginning with the November option to connect to the city billing period covering water system subject to October. standard Customers still have the fees and requirements.
