Texas Tech Athletics announced they will be rebranding in 2026 as they revealed the new look via their social media this past Tuesday, also providing details in a press release.
The center logo above is called the “modernized Double T” and it will be implemented across Red Raiders athletics gradually from now until the full launch in the spring of 2026.
The modernized Double T logo will go into full effect on all athletic uniforms for the 2026-27 academic year.
“The Double T represents one of the most recognizable logos in all of collegiate athletics and a point of pride for all Red Raiders,” Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt said on a Texas Tech Athletics press release. “As we celebrate Homecoming this weekend and welcome back thousands of alumni to campus, this is the perfect opportunity to unveil our new branding that will resonate with our history and define Texas Tech Athletics for future generations of Red Raiders. This multi-year project will propel our athletics brand further into this new era of college athletics where Texas Tech will continue to lead at a national level.”
The athletic department also unveiled numerous new looks for secondary logos, which are to the left and right of the primary logo on the graphic above.
The rebrand was inspired by LDWW, a marketing, communications and creative agency that has won over 200 awards in the industry.
LDWW then worked in alignment with Adidas, who led the design and development of the modernized Double T logo.
Torch Creative, a branding agency heavily involved in athletics, was responsible for many of the secondary logos.
Torch Creative is not done though as they’ll be creating more secondary logos moving forward.
The university did note at the end of the press release that this rebrand will strictly take effect in the athletic department as “the university will continue to use the beveled, three-dimensional Double T as part of the campus brand identity.”
