The Ropes Soarin’ Eagle Marching Band brought home big wins after competing this weekend at the Lubbock Westerner Festival hosted by the Westerner Band Boosters at Lowery Field in Plains Capitol Park this past weekend.45 Ropes placed first in the 2A Division (19 schools), and second place among the 45 1A5A schools, with an ensemble total of 2574 points. Liberty High School, a 4A school, won overall with 2762 points
Other schools in Hockley County that competed included Sundown, placing sixth in 2A with 2260 points; Smyer, ninth in 2A with 1800 points; and Morton in Cochran County, 12th place in 2A with1206 points.
The Levelland Lobo Band brought home third place in the 4A division, scoring 1740 points behind Liberty High School.
