Camilo Reyes Castillo, 46 from Levelland and a former teacher’s aide at Levelland Middle School, agreed to plead guilty to a
Camilo Castillo federal charge of production of child pornography, according to court documents.
According to federal court records, Castillo was arrested on June 17 and booked into the Hockley County Jail and later moved into the Lubbock County Detention Center after receiving a tip that Castillo had child sexual abuse material. When agents searched Castillo’s home in June, he admitted to having sexual contact with two boys. Authorities discovered videos of Castillo sexually abusing the children at his Levelland home.
Castillo was federally indicted for seven counts of production of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography involving a prepubescent minor.
Court records did not indicate any of the abuse took place at school. Levelland ISD previously said the victims were not students and Castrillo was no longer employed by the district.
Should Castillo’s plea be accepted, he will be sentenced at a later date to no more than 30 years in federal prison.
