The City of Levelland is looking for citizens wishing to be involved in the various city boards and commissions for the next term.
Each year, the Levelland city council appoints members of the community to the various city boards and commissions which include Levelland Community Development Corporation, Main Street Board, Planning & Zoning Commission, Housing Standards Board, Airport Advisory Board and others.
“The City Council makes these appointments annually and is always looking for individuals in our community who are willing to serve,” said Andréa Corley, city secretary. “We are asking any citizens who have an interest in being involved to turn in a volunteer interest form.”
The time commitment varies from board to board with some meeting monthly, quarterly, while others meet on an as-needed basis.
“Participating on a board is a great way to learn about how municipal government works. It can be a spring board for those considering running for an elected seat in the future,” said Corley.
